Testimonials

"Dr. Lisa Slover was an amazing light at the end of a very dark tunnel for me. After having a traumatic birth, I struggled with the feelings that I felt as a new mom and the intense fear and anxiety that I was facing. Through my sessions with Dr. Slover I was able to work through all of the emotions, fears, memories and concerns. It was so nice to have a calm, compassionate and understanding professional to work with. I am so grateful to have found her when I did and would recommend anyone that it even wondering if what they are feeling is “normal” or just to have neutral party to work through thoughts to utilize her services."

Above the Clouds

My Approach

Mental health is a complex thing. Similar to our physical health, our mental health is dependent upon things like our diet, sleep, socialization, genetics, relationships, etc. Often, if one thing is out of whack with our physical health, something else will be impacted (e.g, a neck injury often can cause headaches). The same goes for our mental health. Due to the investigative and unraveling nature of therapy, I suggest one should invest 3-9 months in order to see the true effects of the process.

I believe in the power of unlearning and relearning. Questioning our beliefs, assumptions, and our relationships. Going into the "filing cabinet room" in our minds and sorting through the drawers full of memories, traumas, identities, roles, hopes/dreams, and figuring out what to keep, sort, or get rid of. I understand this process can be scary and overwhelming, but you don't have to do this alone.
